Marion Township - Building & Demolition Permits

How to Obtain a Building Permit or Demolition Permit

Marion Township requires building permits for any and all construction within the township. The Township enforces the Building Code legislation as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and uses a local Building Code Administrator to ensure compliance. Some building permits are issued directly through the Marion Township office, while others that require inspections will be handled by our appointed Building Code Administrator, Richardson Inspection Service.
**Note: Any structure over 10x10 feet or 100 square feet—regardless of whether it is a pre-fabricated shed or building—requires a building permit.

Step 1 - Complete the Building Permit Application

Stop by our office to complete the building permit application. If the permit process requires inspections, it will be handled by Richardson Inspection Service, but you must start with the initial application through the Township office. If you are unable to visit in person, you can complete the application process by email or mail.
